Daniel Dugan Honored for Outstanding Community Service

(Springfield, IL) - The Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois (PIIAI) honored Daniel Dugan, Waggoner Bellm Dugan Insurance Agency in Highland, for outstanding community service during the association's annual convention in Springfield.

Dugan was recognized for working to establish a new chapter of Habitat for Humanity in Highland. Dugan worked for a year and a half to set up the chapter, and then became Chairman of the newly established Board of Directors. Working with chapter members, Dugan was able to obtain volunteers and funding needed to begin construction on the group's first home.

Dugan's long-term goal for the group is to build 20 homes in the next 10 years. This will allow one new home to be built every year with very little additional funds needed, as recipients of the Habitat for Humanity homes are required to pay back the principle without interest over a 25 year period.

The Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois is an association representing independent insurance agents throughout the state.
